Does my bum look big in this????

The Fellwalker took me to Leyburn in Yorkshire. We stayed at the lovely Eastfield Lodge and after a fantastic breakfast the Fellwalker took me on a 10K walk. The above picture is a style half way through the walk. Well, the Fellwalker being 6' 3" tall had no problem and skipped through it, but me, being only 5' tall and belonging to the low and big bum tribe, was finding it a bit difficult. I tried to get through, but did not want to get stuck and have to be rescued, oh my god how embarrassing would that have been. The Fellwalker had a brilliant idea, in between falling about laughing and he placed a few rocks on the ground, which gave me a bit more height to get through the larger gap. We carried on and went to a nice Inn for a quick snack and a few drinks and laugh some more.

I decided it would be nice to take the riverside path, it made the walk longer but it was a lovely day. The path was a bit overgrown and being only 5', I was in trouble again. The Fellwalker was fine and marched on ahead but took this photo.
You can just about see my head above the flowers!

It was a good days walk!!!

Home alone

I have been relaxing and enjoying the sun at the Lodge. I was on the decking all day yesterday and read a Tami Hoag book from cover to cover. I have not been neglecting a healthy diet and have made sure I had my 5 a day.
I have been told that this counts as one of your 5 a day!!

Today I have messed about on the laptop sorting e-mails and trying to keep in the shade as it is really hot. Will make myself some tea and maybe go the the Haybarn for a wine or two.
The Fellwalker will be back here tomorrow lunchtime and I am sure he will head straight off to the Fells again.
This weather is supposed to last until after the weekend so if anyone want a short break 4 nights from Monday 28th May £300 no extras. Contact me on info@fellwalkerlodge.co.uk and more details of the Lodge can be found on www.fellwalkerlodge.co.uk

The Fellwalkers brief visit to the Lakes

With the weather being so nice and the Lodge having no guests I mentioned to the Fellwalker that I fancied going up to the Lodge for a few days. We were coming up on Friday anyway but I thought it would be nice to get some sun and chill before then. Cutting a long story short we both arrived on Tuesday at 2pm, unpacked the car and straight away I could see his eyes longing for the hills. So I dropped him off over the Kirkstone Pass in Hartsop and he was going to walk home. I spent the afternoon sitting on the deck enjoying a book( its a hard life being a Fellwalker's Wife). At 6 o'clock I got the call to say he was not far away. In other words meet me at the Haybarn and get me a pint of Cumberland! Spent an hour chatting with our Friends up in the pub then it was home to sit out and enjoy a meal and a few more drinks.
He left me home alone on Wednesday lunchtime, he didn't want to go and was muttering in the car while driving away.

They had a good trip, good weather and good beer at Wasdale Head with good company. Back to reality now, or what I call planning his next walk.

The Fellwalker is at the summit

Well he has rung and they have all made it to the top. The weather is good, so they should have some nice pictures of their adventure. A bet a few celebratory pints will be drunk in the Wasdale Head later!!

The Boots are being cleaned

The Fellwalker is in the dining area at home cleaning his boots ready for his camping trip to Wasdale with 6 of his work colleagues. They are planning to do Scafell Pike on Saturday. It is the last of their 3 peak challenge (although its not in 24hrs, it has taken a while to organise each peak), they will have done Snowdon, Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike in less than a year.
Will I be bored while he is away, oh no, the Boys will keep me busy and I am out for a meal with Friends on Saturday.
Some wildlife and scenic shots from my wander up to Troutbeck on Friday 20th April

Tuesday 24 April 2012

Well it was plan A on Friday, the weather was not too bad. So that was Coledale Round. He was out most of the day and did approx 10 miles.
                                                Grisedale Pike from Hopegill Head,

Eel Crag from Sand Hill

I went for a wander up to Troutbeck and the Chicken & Chorizo stew was really good.

So Saturday he went for plan B, a walk round Thirlmere another 10 miles. Back at 3pm and we had a nice relaxing evening
Thirlmere

Friday 20 April 2012

The Fellwalker changed his mind this morning, the sun was out and it was warm at 9am. So he has a plan A & B depending on what happens with the weather. I have not just been sitting on the deck enjoying the sun, I have made a chicken & chorizo casserole in the slow cooker and brushed the decking. Now just going to catch up on some e-mails and maybe go for a little wander.

Thursday 19 April 2012

Read our guest book at the Lodge and everybody left lovely comments, but I had tears in my eyes at my first picture from Children that stayed at the Lodge, thank you. We have just been up to the Haybarn to show our faces and are now relaxing in the Lodge. The Fellwalker's mind is on the weather, visibility could be a problem so he is thinking about a low level 10 mile walk, a bit of a stretch as he says!!!!
Well I am now going to stretch for my glass of wine
